My first job working with computers was 24 years ago, for a small ISP in San Antonio, Texas, as a tech support team of one for customers whose Internet, email, or web hosting wasn’t working. It was a baptism of fire that served me well in the subsequent two decades, moving into IT consulting before getting laid off from Lucent Technologies along with thousands of my closest colleagues during the Dot Com Crash. Taking the opportunity, my dad asked if I wanted to come back to Beverly and help with his IT support business, and I said yes. For the last twenty years, I’ve put the hard lessons learned to good use, helping people and businesses across Eastern Massachusetts, and occasionally beyond, with their computer nightmares.

My adult life fascination with computers and personal computing became a reality in 1982 (after being teased by the TRS-80, Commodore 64, and IBM PC) after buying a DEC Rainbow 100. Troubleshooting, beginning with CP/M, MS-DOS, early Windows, Apple DOS, and finally Mac OS and the software that runs on top turned into a full time job around 1988. Desktop publishing was my focus initially using Aldus PageMaker and the Mac. A crowning achievement was the design and layout of a 1600+ page Study Bible, done entirely on a Mac SE. Gradually, the design work evolved into what Frontline is today; a partner with dozens of clients in the specification and installation of computer hardware, software, networking, telecommunications equipment, and troubleshooting of all kinds.
